Fliqz, a white-label online video platform company based in Emeryville, Calif., announced this week that is has signed more than 1,500 new customers in the first quarter, including 50 premium customers. Fliqz now serves more than 35,000 customers, according to the company.

Some of the premium customers Fliqz announced include: AAA, North American Media Group, and Active Interest Media.

"In order for us to successfully support our members, the web sites of our membership clubs, magazines, and online communities must be engaging, informative and deep," said Chad Cox, Director of Project Management, North American Media Group. "Working with Fliqz enables us to achieve this goal, as online video is one of the most desired elements on our sites, providing our members the opportunity to share their experiences and create community in a very real way."

Fliqz CEO Benjamin Wayne said the recent customer additions prove that publishers are finding online video to be a cost-effective way to engage and convert customers. He expects the recent growth wave to bring the company to profitability by the end of 2009.
